How to Apply

Our admissions process

We know that choosing the right school for your child can often be confusing and time consuming, so we try to make the process here at The Oratory as enjoyable and straightforward as possible.

Pupils enter the school either at:

  • 11+ through an Assessment Day held here in the January preceding entry. Applicants will sit assessments in English, Maths and an online CAT assessment.
  • 13+ through ISEB Common Entrance sat at the applicant's Prep School or internally set Scholarship Exams sat at The Oratory, both of which are taken in Year 8. Prior to this, once registered, applicants will be required to sit the ISEB Pre-Test whilst in Year 6 at their Prep School. Following an interview with the Head they will be offered a place at this stage, subject to Common Entrance.
  • 16+ through predicted GCSE grades and school reports. We require pupils to complete an online Entrance Assessment and we also offer Academic Scholarships via internally set Examinations.

Admission at other stages may be possible, subject to the availability of a place.
