U6th Form A Level Art, 3D Design and Photography students visit the V&A Museum

On Thursday 13 February, U6th Form A Level Art, 3D Design and Photography students visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

First stop was 'The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence', which celebrates the extraordinary creative output and internationalist culture of the Golden Age of the Mughal Court (about 1560 – 1660), during the reigns of its most famous emperors: Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan.

Next up was 'NAOMI in Fashion', the first exhibition of its kind exploring the extraordinary career of fashion model Naomi Campbell. Through the work of leading global designers and photographers, her creative collaborations, activism and far-reaching cultural impact is celebrated.

Students also had the opportunity to view the V&A's brilliant permanent displays too, in particular The Kusuma Gallery, which is dedicated to photographic books, including the Royal Photographic Society’s book collection.

Throughout the visit, students documented visual and written information via their sketchbooks and cameras in preparation for their research A Level exam topic.
