Oratory Rugby Dinner with Guest Speaker, England International, Ayoola Erinle
The annual Oratory Rugby Club dinner took place on Saturday evening, celebrating a season that sees our 1st XV and U14s through to the finals of the County Cup tomorrow in Maidenhead RFC!
Many thanks to everyone who attended, and a huge thank you to our President of the Rugby Club, Old Oratorian & former England International rugby player, Ayoola Erinle, who spoke about his playing career and experience of rugby at The Oratory.
Congratulations to all the award winners:
- Paul Keadie Shield for outstanding performance: C. Tappan, who has produced some superb displays at No. 8,
- Tom Hennessy Shield: C. Burton, for demonstrating the values of the school and the rugby club.
- MacRae Cup (a new award donated by the family of Old Oratorian and current Rams’ hooker Morgan, which recognises the leading L6th Form performer): R. Derbyshire, the blind-side flanker who grabbed a hat-trick under the Old Bath Road floodlights against Pangbourne College recently.
- The Captain's Cup for most improved player: C. Kieran.
- 2nd XV Award for player of the season: H. Cassar.
Great to see our girls' rugby team out in force, who are looking forward to their upcoming 7s!
Mikey Hennessy, Head of Oratory Rugby, says "It was a great occasion to mark another successful season of rugby at The Oratory. Hopefully we can finish in style at Tuesday's Berkshire County Cup Final vs Reading Blue Coat."
The Oratory has enjoyed a successful season with the Under 14s also in action versus Claires Court in the Berkshire County Cup final age-group equivalent at Maidenhead RFC.
