Oratory Student nominated for Henley Herald's ‘Young Sporting Superstar 2024’!
The Oratory is delighted that Millie Roberts has been nominated for the Henley Herald Community Champion Awards ‘Young Sporting Superstar 2024’!
Here is Millie's entry for the award:
"Millie Roberts is an exceptional young talent who made a seamless transition from Hawks Youth to Hawks Women Netball, playing a key role for Hawks 3 in the MDNL league. Her outstanding performance contributed to the team's promotion to Division 2 this season. Millie's dedication, skill, and positive attitude have made her an invaluable member of our club. Her confidence has flourished, and she continues to inspire her teammates with her hard work and commitment. Millie is truly deserving of the Young Sporting Superstar award, embodying sportsmanship and excellence in everything she does."
The Community Champion Awards honour individuals who have gone above and beyond this year and is decided by public vote. The 'Young Sporting Superstar' award is given to a young rising sporting star between the age of 11-18 who is excelling in any sport.
At The Oratory, Millie has been a key player in the U18XI Hockey team for her school, which has won the Berkshire League for the past three years. A strong forward with a powerful reverse hit, she has scored many goals.
Millie also captained the successful 1st VII Netball team last season, where she led with great leadership on the court, encouraging her team and again playing GA, where she has scored many amazing goals throughout.
In cricket, Millie has played alongside boys and captained the U15A team.
