5th Former wins French U17 & U19 Real Tennis Championships

More Real Tennis victories came for 5th Form student, A. Watson, over the Easter weekend as he became French Real Tennis U17 and U19 Champion!

Watson competed in the French U17 and U19 Championships held at Fontainebleau Palace just outside of Paris against some of the best French juniors and international players. He was victorious in both events, winning both finals in straight sets. This is a particularly impressive achievement considering he is still 16 years old.

Claire Fahey, Head of Oratory Racquets and the reigning Women’s Real Tennis World Champion says, "I am delighted for Archie. It was a great experience for him to go and play in Fontainebleau. It is really pleasing to see Oratory students performing well across various levels of Real Tennis and seeing the popularity of the sport growing within the school.”

Real Tennis is one the oldest games in the world and The Oratory is one of only four schools with a court. Real Tennis is available for students, parents and members of the public to play at The Oratory. For more information, contact pros@ortc.uk.
