Assembly Talk by Old Oratorian Morgan MacRae (OS 2015-2020)

It was wonderful to welcome back Old Oratorian Morgan MacRae (OS 2015-2020), who spoke in assembly earlier this month with his girlfriend Kitty about his recent cardiac arrest.

Their talk covered the need to raise awareness of cardiac arrests, especially within Sport and young people, and their new Instagram platform My S-ICD and Me, which focuses on the importance of CPR and AED training.

Morgan also spoke about his forthcoming Arch 2 Arc Run with fellow Old Oratorians Iwan MacRae (OS 2012-2017) and Tom Croisdale (OS 2010-2017). It is a 7-day run from London's Marble Arch to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, averaging just over one marathon a day and raising money for The British Heart Foundation, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and St George’s University Hospital, London's ICU and cardiac ward. The Oratory was pleased to be able to support these causes on the day of Morgan and Kitty's visit with a donut sale that raised over £550 in just 10 minutes! Additionally, the school will be hosting a Charity Inter-House Run on Friday 21 June. More details to follow.

As a result of this assembly talk, Oratory students have already started CPR and AED training in school, having been inspired by Morgan and Kitty's story.
