GCSE Results 2024

The Oratory has enjoyed a good year of GCSE exam results, with many students achieving above prediction. 9-7 and 9-5 grades are both significantly above national average, and 9-4 grades are a staggering 20% above national average. For a non-selective school, these are amazing results, and a testament to the hard work of both students and teachers.

Many students achieved a good spread of high grades, but special congratulations must go to Yoonho Kang, who achieved seven 9s, one 8 and one 7; Yuvraj Gakhar, who achieved six 9s and four 8s, and Alex Somerville, who achieved four 9s, three 8s and two 7s.

A special mention also for Eugene Chan, who achieved the rare feat of 100% on all his Mathematics papers and to Evelyn Bowers and Daisy Baston-Hall who achieved 194/200 and 191/200 respectively in Art.

Congratulations must also go to the Mathematics department, who achieved 41% 9-7 grades, Art (a very popular subject at GCSE and A Level) who achieved 47% 9-7 grades, and Latin, who achieved 33% 9-8 grades.

Dr Julian Murphy, Head, says “Well done to all Oratory GCSE students and teaching staff for these excellent results. With our unique Ex Umbris Learning Culture being fully rolled out this September, we look forward to ever rising results in the years ahead.”

A Level Results 2024

The Oratory is very pleased with their A level results this year, which are a testament to the hard work and dedication of their students and their teachers. Particular congratulations must go to the following subjects: Spanish for achieving 100% A*-A; Physics and Chemistry, both also 100% A*-A; Maths 63% A*-A, and History 100% A*-B.

It is difficult to pick out just a few individual success stories from so many personal achievements, but special congratulations should go to Milo for gaining a place at Edinburgh to read Modern History and Economics; Jake, who will be reading Mathematics and Physics at Warwick; Georgie, who is heading to Exeter to read French and English, and Orla who will be reading Biomedical Science at Nottingham.

Dr Julian Murphy, Head, says, “It is wonderful to see so many happy and excited students and their families in school today for A Level results. I am very proud of their achievements and of the wonderful support they have received from our dedicated teachers.”

The Oratory is looking forward to next Thursday and wish all GCSE students the best for their results.
