On Wednesday 1 February, A Level English pupils were treated to an evening talk on 'Shakespeare, Hamlet and Tragedy' from a Lecturer in Shakespeare Studies.

Students in Lower and Upper Sixth are studying Hamlet for their exams, so this was a timely and useful talk, which ranged across the genre of tragedy, life in Shakespeare's London and many of the themes within the play. The speaker was particularly struck by the quality of the questions during discussion.
