1st Form: Silverstone STEM Trip

On Friday 3 May, 1st Form students took a trip to Silverstone.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to explore Silverstone and the world of motorsport through a range of activities that included Silverstone’s main exhibition, the Heritage Track Trail, and a STEM Workshop.

At the main exhibition, students learnt about the history of Silverstone and the wider aspects of racing. The Heritage Track Trail then offered students the chance to walk on a section of the original Silverstone Circuit and learn about its prestigious races.

In the STEM Workshop, students had the chance to get hands-on with genuine motorsport items and learn about design, engineering, materials, forces and careers.

Jimmy Dodworth, Head of Future Pathways says "It was an exciting and hands on introduction to the world of work. Students were amazed at the number of different jobs and the amount of people it takes to run a successful Grand Prix."
