Oratory Racquets U18 1st IV Tennis Win Berkshire Tennis Schools’ Invitational 2024

The Oratory is delighted to announce that the Oratory Racquets U18 IV Tennis team has won the Berkshire Tennis Schools’ Invitational 2024, retaining their title for a second year running.

The Berkshire Tennis Schools’ Invitational, which took place on Wednesday 1 May, is an annual trophy tournament between The Oratory School, Pangbourne College, Shiplake College and Leighton Park. The Oratory team consisted of J. Bradley in U6th Form, N. McGarvey in 5th Form, C. Firth in 3rd Form and C. Gosling-Evans in 2nd Form.

Special congratulations go to C. Gosling-Evans (age 12) who played at 4th seed and won all her singles matches convincingly vs U18 boys.

Claire Fahey, Head of Oratory Racquets says, “It’s been brilliant to see first class tennis played by Oratory students - all the more impressive considering the younger ages of two of the team. What superstars!”

Oratory Racquets has enjoyed great success this year. Last month, 5th Former A. Watson secured the French Open U17 and U19 titles. This summer, three Oratory students will be heading to Bordeaux having been selected for the Junior Real Tennis World Championships 2024. All players are coached by Claire Fahey, Head of Oratory Racquets and reigning Real Tennis Ladies’ World Champion, who has an impressive 43 Open title wins to her name.
