FOS Charity Fundraising - Michaelmas Term
Our Friends of the Oratory (FOS) Management Committee have had a busy Michaelmas term. Here's an update on three of their major charity fundraising initiatives:
Ski Sale
FOS' first ski sale was held last weekend and was a phenomenal success. The brainchild of L6th Form Class Rep Savannah Poolman, a terrific selection of ski clothing and accessories was made available for sale. Members of the local community donated their items and others were taken on consignment. Thank you to everyone who helped, supported and donated items for this sale. £250 is now going to Launchpad, our chosen local charity for the sale.
Christmas Fair
On Monday night, FOS participated in the school’s Christmas Fair. Their merchandise stand sold a number of FOS branded items and their Dutch pancakes stall was a rousing success with over 960 pancakes sold! FOS also assisted the school in selling mulled wine and hot chocolates to our fair visitors. Funds are currently being calculated and will be distributed between Aid to the Church in Need and local charity Style Acre.
CCS Christmas Gift Appeal
A huge thank you to our Oratory Community who donated gifts for the Christmas appeal run for the Catholic Children's Charity. This appeal has helped 57 families make the lives of 116 kids all the better this Christmas. In total over 150 gifts were donated and handed to the CEO Greg Brister (also an Old Oratorian) who was joined by members of our student charity committee.
