Oratory Science visit the New Scientist Live Exhibition
Oratory 2nd Form enjoyed a trip to the New Scientist Live exhibition at the ExCeL Centre in London on Monday 9 December,
We travelled on the pristine Elizabeth Line and arrived in time to see a thoroughly impressive presentation about grisly Australian animals. A live link-up with an ISS astronaut was hugely informative with lots of excellent questions answered, and pupils could then smell space thanks to help from Imperial College.
A variety of exhibition stands ranging from Martin-Baker (a prize awaits the non-second former who can tell me what they produce) to Hospitals of the future. A virtual rollercoaster was a huge hit - as was the very explosive, noisy but excellently presented "How to Build a Racing Car", which would be an excellent Christmas gift for any 9 to 11-year-old budding engineers.
Our pupils were impeccably behaved and a credit to the school.
